How to Cancel Your Good Housekeeping Subscription: Online, Phone, or App

To cancel a Good Housekeeping subscription, use one of three routes managed by Hearst: the online customer service portal, the phone line at 800-888-7788, or an email to ghkcustserv@cdsfulfillment.com.1Good Housekeeping. Customer Service The portal is the fastest and takes about two minutes. One important exception: if you signed up through Apple, Google Play, or PayPal, Hearst can’t stop those charges, and you have to cancel through the platform that’s billing you.

What to Have Ready

Your ten-digit account number pulls up your subscription instantly. It’s printed on the second line of your magazine’s mailing label, right after the letters “GHK.”2Good Housekeeping. Cancel by Phone, Email, or Mail

To cancel by phone, call 800-888-7788 during business hours. The automated system will route you to subscriptions. Have your account number or the email on file ready, and ask for a confirmation number before you hang up.

To cancel by email, write to ghkcustserv@cdsfulfillment.com with your account number, full name, and a clear statement that you want to cancel.1Good Housekeeping. Customer Service Email leaves a built-in paper trail, which helps if a charge is ever disputed.

Mail is the slowest route. Send a written request to Hearst’s subscription fulfillment office with your account number, the magazine title, and a sentence stating that you want to end the subscription. Expect a couple of weeks before the change registers in the system.

If You Subscribed Through Apple, Google Play, or PayPal

When a third-party platform collects payment, Hearst doesn’t control the billing and can’t stop the charges. Cancel where the money is actually leaving.

Apple (iPhone or iPad)

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select Good Housekeeping and tap Cancel Subscription. If there’s no cancel button and you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled.5Apple. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

GH+ Is a Separate Cancellation

Good Housekeeping’s premium digital membership, GH+, is billed independently from the print magazine. Canceling one does not cancel the other. If you’re paying for both, handle each separately.

For GH+, email ghmembership@goodhousekeeping.com or call 888-797-9927.1Good Housekeeping. Customer Service Hearst’s terms state that digital membership cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, with no pro-rated refund.7Hearst. Hearst Terms of Use Cancel early in a cycle and you keep access through the end of it, but you won’t get money back for unused time.

Auto-Renewal and the Continuous Service Program

Hearst enrolls many subscribers in its Continuous Service Program, which renews automatically at the end of each term. A reminder goes out roughly 60 days before your card is charged or a bill is sent. You can write “cancel” on that reminder and mail it back, or use any of the methods above.

Plenty of people miss the reminder or mistake it for junk mail. If you’ve decided you’re done, cancel now rather than waiting. You can also log into the portal and turn off Continuous Service, which switches you to traditional renewal notices that require an active opt-in each time.

Refunds and That Last Issue

For print subscriptions, Hearst’s terms say you’ll get a refund for undelivered issues, sent back to your original payment method, typically over several weeks. Digital memberships work differently: no pro-rated refund, and access runs out at the end of the paid period.7Hearst. Hearst Terms of Use

One more issue may still show up after you cancel. Magazines are printed and shipped weeks in advance, so if your cancellation lands after the printing cutoff, the next issue is already in the pipeline. Getting it doesn’t mean the cancellation failed.

If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel

This is where things get frustrating. You canceled, you have a confirmation, and a charge hits anyway. Start by contacting Hearst customer service through any of the channels above and reference your original cancellation.

If that doesn’t resolve it, the FTC advises filing a dispute (chargeback) with your credit or debit card issuer.8Federal Trade Commission.
