How to Cancel Your Grok AI Subscription: Web, Apple, and Google Play

To cancel a Grok subscription, go back to wherever you signed up: the Grok website at grok.com if you paid xAI directly, the Subscriptions screen in your iPhone or iPad settings if you paid through Apple, or the Google Play app if you paid through Android. Canceling through the wrong channel does nothing, so the first job is figuring out who’s actually charging you.

Find Out Who’s Billing You

Check the email receipt from your original signup, or look at the charge on your card statement. Grok has three separate billing paths and only one of them applies to you.

  • If the receipt is from xAI and the charge shows up as an xAI transaction on your card, you subscribed through grok.com.
  • If the receipt is from Apple and the charge is on your Apple Account, you subscribed through the App Store.
  • If the receipt is from Google and the charge shows as a Google Play transaction, you subscribed through Google Play.

Once you know which one, use the matching section below.

Cancel on the Grok Website

Go to grok.com, open Settings, and select Billing.1xAI. FAQ – Grok Website / Apps Your current plan will be listed there with an option to cancel. Click through the confirmation prompts and wait for the page to show a canceled status before you close the tab. If you leave mid-process, the cancellation may not register.

Cancel Through Apple

You can’t cancel from inside the Grok app on iOS because Apple owns the billing relationship. Do this instead:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap your name at the top.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Find and tap the Grok or SuperGrok entry.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to find it.

If there’s no Cancel Subscription button and you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

Cancel Through Google Play

Same principle on Android: the Grok app can’t cancel the subscription because Google is the one billing you.

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • Tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  • Select the Grok or SuperGrok subscription.
  • Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

Google will likely ask why you’re leaving and offer alternatives before it lets the cancellation go through. Tap past those to finish.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

What Happens After You Cancel

Your paid features stay on until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Refunds

xAI’s default is no refunds once a payment has processed.4xAI. Terms of Service – Consumer There are a few real exceptions:

  • Consumers in the European Economic Area have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of subscribing. Send an unequivocal statement to support@x.ai; xAI must refund the payment within 14 days of receiving the notice.4xAI. Terms of Service – Consumer
  • If you paid through the App Store, request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Sign in, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, and select the Grok charge. Apple decides these independently of xAI.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
  • If you paid through Google Play, request the refund through Google Play’s support system under its own policies.

Whichever platform charged you is the one that controls your refund. Contacting xAI about an Apple or Google charge won’t get you anywhere.

If Cancellation Won’t Go Through
