To cancel a Grok subscription, you have to cancel it in the same place you originally signed up: grok.com for standalone SuperGrok, X.com for X Premium bought on the web, the Apple App Store if you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, or Google Play if you subscribed on Android. Cancel in the wrong place and the charges keep coming.
Find Out Who Is Actually Billing You
Before anything else, figure out which company is charging your card. Grok access comes through several products and each one bills through a different channel.
- If you signed up at grok.com, xAI bills you directly, typically through Stripe. Your statement will show a charge referencing xAI or Grok.
- If you subscribed to X Premium or X Premium+ on X.com, Stripe handles the billing on X’s behalf.
- If you tapped Subscribe inside the X app or Grok app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple is the one charging you, and it will appear on an Apple ID receipt.
- If you subscribed inside the Android app, Google Play is processing the recurring payment.
The fastest way to confirm is to search your email for the original signup receipt. Look for messages from Apple, Google Play, or X/xAI around the date you first subscribed. No receipt? Check the merchant name on your card statement. That name tells you which of the four cancellation paths below to follow.

Cancel X Premium on X.com
If your Grok access comes bundled with X Premium or X Premium+ bought on X.com, cancel through X’s own settings. Click More in the left sidebar, then look for Premium, or go through account settings to find the subscription management page. X may hand you off to a Stripe-hosted billing portal to finish the cancellation. Expect a prompt offering you a downgrade or asking why you’re leaving; decline and proceed.
Menu names shift as X updates its interface. If Premium is not in the sidebar, open Settings and Privacy and look for a Subscriptions section. Both routes land on the same page showing your current plan with a cancel option.
