To cancel your Hulu subscription, first check who bills you: log in at secure.hulu.com/account and look under “Your Subscription.” If Hulu bills you directly, you can cancel from that same page in a browser. If a third party like Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, or a mobile carrier is listed as your biller, you have to cancel through them instead. Getting this wrong is the main reason people think they’ve canceled and keep getting charged.1Hulu. I Thought I Had Canceled
Check Who Bills You First
Log into your account at secure.hulu.com/account from a web browser. Under “Your Subscription,” the page shows either a “Cancel” option (Hulu bills you) or the name of a third-party biller.2Hulu. How to Cancel Hulu Whatever you see there is where you have to go. Hulu’s own website cannot process a cancellation for a subscription that’s billed through Apple, Google, Amazon, or a carrier.
Cancel Directly Through Hulu
If Hulu is your biller, use a web browser on a computer or phone. The Hulu app on iOS does not support cancellation, so even direct-billed customers need a browser for iOS. Android users have the option to cancel inside the app by tapping the profile icon, scrolling to “Cancel your subscription,” and following the prompts.
- Go to secure.hulu.com/account.
- Select “Cancel” under “Your Subscription.”
- Hulu will offer to pause instead. Choose “Continue to Cancel” to keep going.
- Select “Cancel Subscription” on the final confirmation screen.
The status on your Account page should then read “Your subscription will be canceled,” and a confirmation email should arrive.2Hulu. How to Cancel Hulu Save that email. If you close the tab before the final confirmation screen, the subscription stays active and you will be charged again.
Cancel Through Apple
If you signed up through the App Store, Apple handles the billing and you cancel in your Apple subscription settings.

Canceling a Disney Bundle
Hulu is often bundled with Disney+ and ESPN, and bundles trip people up. If you cancel just the bundle, any standalone Hulu or ESPN+ subscription you had before the bundle keeps running at its own price, and you have to cancel it separately. If you originally signed up for the bundle through Disney+, cancellation has to happen through Disney+, not Hulu.2Hulu. How to Cancel Hulu After canceling a bundle, go back to your Account page and confirm no leftover standalone subscription is still active.
Pause Instead of Cancel

To verify, open your Account page. The status should reflect the cancellation and show the paid-through date. Keep the confirmation email as proof in case a charge still lands on your statement.
Refunds and Timing
Hulu doesn’t prorate. Cancel a monthly plan mid-cycle and you keep watching through the end of the billing period, but you don’t get a credit for the unused days. The annual plan, currently $119.99 for the ad-supported tier, works the same way on a larger scale: no refunds or credits for partial years, and no switching from annual to monthly mid-cycle.9Hulu. Annual Plan To squeeze the most from your last payment, cancel close to your renewal date.
Canceling for a Deceased Account Holder
Closing an account for someone who has died requires contacting Hulu support. Go to the Hulu Help Center and choose “Get in Touch” to start a chat. Tell the representative the account holder is deceased and be ready to provide documentation such as a death certificate. The representative will handle the rest.
