To cancel an iLovePDF subscription, you have to cancel it in the same place you signed up. That’s the part most people get wrong. If you subscribed on iLovePDF.com, you cancel in your account settings there. If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, Apple is billing you and only Apple can stop it. If you subscribed on Android, Google Play is billing you. Knowing how to cancel an iLovePDF subscription really comes down to identifying which of those channels is charging your card, then following the steps for that channel.
First, Find Out Who Is Actually Billing You
Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the charge. If it reads “iLovePDF” or the company name directly, you subscribed through the website. If it reads “Apple.com/bill,” Apple is the biller. If it reads something like “Google*iLovePDF,” Google Play is the biller. iLovePDF also accepts PayPal, so if you don’t see a direct charge on your card, check your PayPal recurring payments.
Getting this wrong is the single most common reason people believe they canceled but keep getting billed. Canceling on iLovePDF.com does nothing when Apple or Google is the one processing the payment.
Canceling on iLovePDF.com
If you subscribed directly on the website, log into your account and open your account settings. iLovePDF’s pricing page confirms you can “upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime in your account settings.” Go to the billing or subscription section of your profile, select your current plan, and follow the prompts to cancel. The site will ask you to confirm, and a confirmation email should arrive at the address tied to your account.
Keep that email. Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen too, because email deliverability is never guaranteed and you may need proof if a charge shows up later.
Canceling on an iPhone or iPad
If you subscribed on iOS, Apple handles the billing and you cancel through Apple’s system:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find iLovePDF in the list and tap it.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Apple’s support page walks the same path: Settings, your name, Subscriptions.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple If iLovePDF isn’t in your subscription list, either you subscribed a different way or you’re signed in with a different Apple ID than the one used to subscribe.
Canceling on Android
If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel inside the Play Store:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Find iLovePDF and tap it.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Uninstalling the iLovePDF app does not cancel the subscription. Google will keep billing you until you cancel through the Play Store.
Canceling a PayPal Billing Agreement
If you paid through PayPal, you may also need to cancel the recurring payment agreement on PayPal’s side. Log in, go to Settings, then Payments, and find your list of automatic payments or pre-approved merchants. Locate iLovePDF and cancel the billing agreement. That stops PayPal from sending future payments even if the cancellation doesn’t register instantly with iLovePDF.
Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
After you cancel, log back in and check your subscription status. It should show a pending expiration date rather than an active renewal. Thirty seconds of checking beats another month of charges. If the status still shows “active” with a renewal date, the cancellation didn’t register and you need to try again.
Getting a Refund
iLovePDF has honored refund requests made within 15 days of purchase, based on a developer response posted on the App Store. To ask for one, go to iLovePDF’s contact form, select “Billing” as the subject, explain that you’d like a refund, and include the email address on your account so support can find your subscription.3iLovePDF. If Apple or Google processed the payment, you may have better luck requesting the refund directly from them. Both platforms run their own refund processes for app subscriptions and sometimes grant refunds even after a developer’s own window has closed.
What You Keep and What You Lose After Canceling
Canceling doesn’t cut off access immediately. Your premium features stay active through the end of the billing period you already paid for. Pay for a yearly plan in March, cancel in April, and you keep premium access through the following March. After that, the account drops to the free tier.
The free tier is more limited. File size is generally capped around 25 MB, there’s a daily limit on how many documents you can process, and ads return. Premium-only tools like batch processing and digital signatures go away. Your account and saved files remain; you just lose the expanded capabilities.
Deleting Your Account Is a Separate Step
Canceling the subscription doesn’t delete the account. If you want iLovePDF to remove your profile and personal data, submit a separate request through the contact form and select “Privacy” as the subject. Include your account email and username so support can identify the right account.3iLovePDF. Contact
