To cancel a JoyReels subscription, go to the subscription settings of whichever platform bills you — Apple, Google Play, or JoyReels itself — and cancel there. Deleting the app from your phone does not stop the charges. That is the single most expensive mistake people make with this service, and it is worth handling before you do anything else.
Check Your Statement to See Who Is Billing You
Pull up your most recent bank or credit card statement and look at the merchant name on the JoyReels charge. That name tells you where to cancel.
- “Apple.com/bill” means Apple is your biller.
- “GOOGLE*JoyReels” or “Google Play” means Google is your biller.
- A charge from JoyReels itself, or through PayPal, means you signed up directly on the JoyReels website and neither app store is involved.
Canceling in the wrong place does nothing. If Apple processes your payment, canceling through Google Play won’t stop the charges, and the reverse is also true.
Uninstalling the App Leaves the Subscription Active
App store subscriptions are tied to your Apple or Google account, not to whether the app sits on your phone. Removing JoyReels from your device leaves the billing running in the background. Users have discovered this after weeks or months of charges piled up following what they thought was a cancellation. You have to formally cancel through your account.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top of the screen. Tap “Subscriptions” to see every active recurring charge on your Apple ID. Find JoyReels, tap it, then tap “Cancel Subscription.”1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
If there is no cancel button and you see red text showing an expiration date, the subscription is already canceled. That red text is the confirmation. Apple keeps your access active through the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Cancel on Android
Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon in the upper right, then go to “Payments & subscriptions” and select “Subscriptions.” Find JoyReels, tap it, and tap “Cancel subscription.” Confirm through any remaining prompts.2Google Play Help. One catch: make sure you are signed into the same Google account you used when you subscribed. If you have multiple Google accounts on your device and JoyReels doesn’t appear in your subscription list, switch accounts and check again.3Google Help. Cancel a Subscription Billed Directly by JoyReels
If your statement shows the charge coming from JoyReels rather than an app store, you signed up through the JoyReels website. Log in at joyreels.com, go to your profile or account settings, and complete every step in the subscription cancellation flow. Partial completion may leave the subscription active.
User reviews describe this route as frustrating. Multiple subscribers report contacting JoyReels support through the app’s chat feature and waiting weeks with no resolution, while charges keep running. If the website will not let you cancel, your practical option is to shut off the payment at the source: tell your credit card issuer or PayPal to block future charges from the merchant, and follow with a formal dispute if the charges continue.
How to Get a Refund for Charges Already Made
Canceling stops future charges. It does not automatically return any money already taken. Refunds go through the platform that billed you.
Apple
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Tap “I’d like to,” select “Request a refund,” choose your reason, and pick the JoyReels charge. Apple typically responds within 24 to 48 hours, and approved refunds take additional time to reach your payment method.4Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
If you can’t find the charge, search your email for “receipt from Apple” to confirm which Apple ID paid for the subscription.4Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
Google Play
Google’s refund process for third-party subscriptions typically directs you to contact the app developer first. If JoyReels does not resolve it, you can escalate to Google Play support. Google generally will not issue refunds if you shared your account credentials or did not protect your account with authentication.5Google Play Help. Learn About Google Play Refund Policies
Dispute the Charge With Your Card Issuer
When app store refunds stall or JoyReels billed you directly and won’t cooperate, a billing dispute with your credit card company is the fallback. Federal law gives you 60 days from the date you received the statement containing the charge to file a written dispute. The charge must exceed $50 to qualify for the formal dispute process.
Once your issuer receives the dispute, it has 30 days to acknowledge it and must complete the investigation within 90 days, or two billing cycles, whichever is shorter. During that time, the issuer cannot try to collect the disputed amount, charge interest on it, or report it as late to credit bureaus.6Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors
File in writing, not just by phone. Include your name, account number, the disputed amount, and a brief explanation of the problem. Send it to the billing dispute address on your statement rather than the payment address. Several JoyReels users have reported that a chargeback through their bank or PayPal was the only thing that finally stopped the charges after repeated attempts to cancel through the app.
Confirm the Cancellation and Watch Your Statement
Check your subscription settings a day or two after canceling. Apple shows an expiration date on the subscription screen. Google Play displays a confirmation message and the date your access ends. If you canceled directly with JoyReels, watch for a confirmation email, though user reports suggest they don’t always arrive promptly. Save whatever confirmation you get.
Watch your statement for at least one full billing cycle after the cancellation date. If another charge appears, you have grounds for a dispute. The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act prohibits companies from charging consumers through recurring negative-option features without first disclosing all material terms and obtaining express informed consent, so an unauthorized post-cancellation charge puts the merchant on the wrong side of federal law.7Congress.gov. 15 USC 8401 – Restore Online Shoppers Confidence Act
One last thing worth checking before you cancel: any coins or virtual currency you bought inside JoyReels. The JoyReels terms of service do not address what happens to unused coins after a subscription ends.8JoyReels.
