How to Cancel Your Paramount Plus Subscription: Billing, Refunds, Rights

To cancel a Paramount Plus subscription, you go through whichever company actually bills you: Paramount’s own website if you signed up there, or Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Hulu, or Verizon +play if you signed up through one of them. Getting this wrong is the single most common reason people think they canceled and keep getting charged.

Find Out Who Is Actually Billing You

Before you cancel anything, pull up a recent bank or credit card statement and look at how the charge appears. A direct Paramount Plus charge typically shows up under the Paramount or ViacomCBS name. If the charge shows as Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, Hulu, or your wireless carrier, that platform is handling your billing, and you’ll need to cancel there rather than on the Paramount Plus site.

You can also check from inside your account. Log in at paramountplus.com on a web browser, click your profile icon, and open your account page. The subscription section names your billing source. If it says the subscription is managed by a third party, the cancel button won’t even appear on Paramount’s site.

Cancel Directly on Paramount Plus

If your billing goes directly to Paramount, the cancellation runs through your account page:

  • Log in at paramountplus.com on a web browser.
  • Click your username or profile icon in the upper right corner and select “Account.”
  • Click “Cancel Subscription.”
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm.

Paramount Plus will likely ask why you’re leaving and may present a retention offer before showing the final confirmation button. That can be a couple of free months, a percentage discount, or a cheaper annual rate. The offers change often and aren’t guaranteed. If you’re set on leaving, keep clicking until you reach the confirmation screen.

Once you confirm, you’ll see a message with the date your access ends. That date matches the end of your current billing period, so you keep watching until then. Current direct pricing runs $8.99 per month for the Essential plan with ads and $13.99 per month for the ad-free Premium plan, so confirming the cancellation before your next renewal date is what avoids another charge.

Cancel Through Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku

If a third party bills you, Paramount can’t process the cancellation. Each platform handles it slightly differently.

Apple

On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then tap “Subscriptions.” Find Paramount Plus, tap it, and tap “Cancel Subscription.” If you don’t see a cancel button or you see an expiration date in red, the subscription is already canceled.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple On an Apple TV device, the path is Settings, then Users and Accounts, then your Apple ID, then Subscriptions.

Google Play

Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device. Tap your profile icon, then “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Subscriptions.” Select Paramount Plus, tap “Cancel subscription,” and follow the instructions. Google confirms you’ll keep access for the time you’ve already paid.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

Amazon Prime Video

If you added Paramount Plus as a Prime Video channel, go to “Manage Your Subscriptions” on Amazon’s website, find the Paramount Plus add-on, select “Unsubscribe,” and confirm. Amazon sometimes offers a self-service refund during the cancellation flow. If you accept it, cancellation takes effect immediately; otherwise, your access continues until the displayed end date.3Amazon. Cancel Your Prime Video Add-On Subscription

Roku

You have two options for a Roku-billed subscription. On the device, highlight the Paramount Plus app and press the Star button on your remote to manage or cancel. Or go to my.roku.com/subscriptions in a web browser.4Roku. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku

Cancel a Bundle Through Hulu or Verizon

Some subscribers get Paramount Plus through a bundle. Those cancellations run through the bundle provider.

Hulu

If you added Paramount Plus with Showtime as a Hulu add-on, open your Hulu Account page in a web or mobile browser. Under “Your Subscription,” select “Manage Add-ons.” Click the checkmark next to the Paramount Plus add-on to toggle it off, then click “Review Changes” and “Submit.”5Hulu. Paramount+ With SHOWTIME on Hulu If your Hulu subscription is itself billed through a third party, the steps may differ.

Verizon +play

Verizon customers who subscribed through +play need to sign in to My Verizon as the account owner or manager. Go to Account, then “+play,” then “Manage.” Under the Active section, find the Paramount Plus subscription, select “Manage” beneath it, then “Cancel subscription,” then “Remove” to confirm.6Verizon. Manage +play Subscriptions Verizon is no longer enrolling new +play subscriptions, but existing ones can still be managed and canceled through this portal.

What Happens After You Cancel

However you cancel, you keep full access to Paramount Plus until the end of your current billing period. If you paid for a month on the 5th and cancel on the 18th, you can watch through the rest of that month. Your watchlist and profile data are typically preserved for a period in case you come back.

Paramount Plus does not issue refunds for time you’ve already paid for. The terms of use state that once you cancel, you won’t be refunded for fees already charged. The exceptions are narrow: if Paramount overcharged you, they’ll issue a credit or refund, and if they discontinue a part of the service you subscribed to, you’re entitled to a refund for the portion you paid for but didn’t receive.7Paramount Skydance. If you subscribed on a promotional offer covering multiple billing periods and cancel early, your access ends at the end of your current billing period rather than at the end of the full promotional window.

Free Trial Timing

Paramount Plus offers a seven-day free trial for new subscribers who sign up directly. Cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged, but you may lose access immediately or at the end of the trial window depending on the platform. Setting a calendar reminder for day five or six is the safe move. If you signed up through Apple or Google, use those same third-party cancellation steps during the trial. Those platforms typically let you keep access through the end of the trial even after you cancel.

Your Rights If Canceling Gets Difficult

A federal rule that took effect in 2025 protects you when canceling any subscription service. The FTC’s Click-to-Cancel amendments to the Negative Option Rule require that canceling be at least as easy as signing up was.8Federal Trade Commission. Federal Trade Commission Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule Making It Easier for Consumers to End Recurring Subscriptions

In practical terms: if you signed up online, you must be able to cancel online. No company can force you to call a phone number or chat with a representative to end a subscription you started with a few clicks. Companies can still present retention offers like discounts or plan downgrades, but those offers cannot block you from completing the cancellation.9Federal Register. Negative Option Rule

If a cancellation process seems deliberately difficult, loops you back to the beginning, or requires steps the sign-up didn’t, you can file a complaint with the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint.

Deleting Your Personal Data

Canceling stops the billing, but Paramount still holds your personal information. If you want that data deleted, submit a separate request by emailing privacy@paramount.com.10Paramount. Paramount Data Subject Right Center California residents have a statutory right to deletion under the CCPA, and residents of other states with consumer privacy laws can submit the same request. Deletion is permanent: your watchlist, viewing history, and profile won’t be recoverable if you resubscribe later.
