To cancel a Pingo AI subscription, go through the payment platform you originally signed up with: Apple’s App Store, Google Play, or Pingo’s own website. Pingo AI’s terms of service say billing changes and cancellations “will need to be completed through the applicable Payment Provider.” You cannot cancel from inside the app itself if Apple or Google handles your billing.
Check Where You’re Being Billed
Open a recent bank or credit card statement and find the charge. If it reads “Apple.com/bill” or something similar, you subscribed through the App Store. If it says “Google” or “GOOGLE*PingoAI,” you went through Google Play. If the charge comes directly from Pingo AI, you signed up on their website. The three paths are different, and starting in the wrong place wastes time.
Note your billing date too. Canceling after a renewal has already processed won’t automatically reverse that charge, so give yourself a buffer before the next cycle starts.
Cancel Through Apple on iPhone or iPad
Apple controls billing for App Store subscriptions, so you have to go through Settings, not the Pingo AI app.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find and tap Pingo AI in the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
You keep access to premium features until the billing period you’ve already paid for runs out. Apple won’t charge you again once the cancellation goes through.
Cancel Through Google Play on Android
Google Play subscriptions also can’t be canceled from inside the Pingo AI app.
- Open your device’s Settings app.
- Tap Google, then your name, then Manage your Google Account.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions.
- Select Pingo AI.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
You can also do this from any browser at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions while signed into your Google account.
If you just want a break rather than a full exit, Google Play offers a pause option on some subscriptions for anywhere from one week to three months. If Pingo AI supports it, you’ll see “Pause payments” alongside the cancel button. The pause starts at the end of your current billing period, and you can resume without re-subscribing.
Cancel a Direct Website Subscription
If your statement shows a charge directly from Pingo AI, log into your account at pingo.ai and look for account settings or a subscription management section where you can turn off auto-renewal. Pingo’s terms note that subscription information may appear in the app’s Account Settings, though the actual billing change routes through the payment provider on file.
If you can’t find the option or something breaks, email support@pingo.ai with your account email, a description of the problem, and a request to cancel. Save any confirmation reply.
What Happens After You Cancel
Canceling stops future charges but doesn’t cut access immediately. You keep unlimited conversations and the other premium features until the current billing period ends, then your account drops to the free tier, which limits conversations and restricts most personalized features.
Watch your statements for at least one full billing cycle after canceling. Screenshot any cancellation confirmation emails or status changes in your account dashboard. If a charge shows up after your confirmed cancellation date, that documentation is what you’ll use to dispute it.
Refunds Go Through the Platform, Not Pingo
Pingo AI does not handle refunds. Their refund page says refunds are “handled by the platform you purchased through” and that “each platform has its own billing and refund policies.”
For App Store charges, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, find the Pingo AI charge, and submit a refund request. Apple reviews these case by case and tends to approve recent charges, especially when you canceled shortly after being billed. For Google Play, go to play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, find the charge, and select Request a refund. Refunds requested within 48 hours of the charge are more likely to be approved.
Neither platform guarantees refunds for partially used billing periods. A cancellation that happened days before a renewal that still went through is a stronger case than one filed after you’ve used the service for most of the period.
If Charges Keep Coming
For credit card charges, federal law gives you 60 days from the date on the billing statement to notify your card issuer of a billing error in writing. The issuer then has to acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles. Send the dispute to the billing inquiries address on your statement, not the payment address.
For debit card or bank account charges, Regulation E caps your liability at $50 if you report an unauthorized transfer within two business days of learning about it. Beyond two business days, exposure rises to $500, and after 60 days from when the statement was sent, you could be liable for the full amount of transfers happening between that mark and when you finally report. Your bank cannot impose greater liability than these limits, even if its account agreement says otherwise.
Calling your bank’s fraud department is usually faster than starting with a written notice. Most banks will block future charges from the merchant while they investigate.
Deleting Your Account Is Not the Same as Canceling
Canceling stops the payments. Your profile, conversation history, and progress data stay on Pingo AI’s servers. If you want everything erased, request account deletion separately. Pingo’s deletion page states that this permanently removes “all user profile information, usage data, and conversation history,” and cannot be undone.
The trap: deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. If you delete first, Apple or Google will keep charging you for a service you can no longer use. Cancel through the payment platform, confirm the cancellation, then delete the account if you want your data gone.
