How to Cancel Your Playbook Subscription and Get a Refund

To cancel a Playbook subscription, go back to the platform where you signed up—Apple, Google Play, or the Playbook website—and cancel from there at least 24 hours before your next billing date. Playbook charges $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year, and both plans auto-renew until you turn them off.1Playbook. Playbook Premium Canceling in the wrong place won’t stop the charges, so the first step is figuring out which account is billing you.

Check Where You Subscribed

Pull up your bank or card statement and look at the transaction descriptor. “APPLE.COM/BILL” means you subscribed through the App Store. “GOOGLE*” or a Google Play reference means Android. A charge directly from Playbook means you signed up on their website. Each path has its own cancellation route, and you have to use the one that matches.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

  • Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Find Playbook and tap it.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

If there’s no Cancel button and you see an expiration date in red text instead, the subscription is already canceled.2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

  • Log in with the same email or Facebook account you used when you subscribed.
  • Open the Subscription section.
  • Click Manage, then Cancel Subscription.
  • Complete the steps and wait for the confirmation message.

Timing and the Free Trial

Playbook’s 7-day free trial requires a card and a selected plan up front. If you don’t cancel before day 8, the plan you picked starts charging automatically.6Playbook. How the New 7-Day Free Trial Can Help You The same rule applies after that: you have to cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge.1Playbook. Playbook Premium

If your monthly plan renews on the 15th, cancel by the 14th. Miss the window and you’re locked into another cycle with no refund. Set a reminder a few days early if you’re only trying the app.

If You Can’t Log In

A forgotten password only blocks you if you subscribed through the Playbook website. In that case, email support@playbookapp.io and request cancellation directly, including the address you used to sign up so they can find your account.5Playbook Help Center. How Can I Cancel My Subscription?

For App Store or Google Play subscribers, a locked Playbook account doesn’t matter. Apple and Google manage the billing, so you can cancel from your device settings without ever opening the Playbook app.

Refunds

Playbook’s policy is no refunds for the current billing period once you cancel. You keep access until that period ends, but you don’t get money back.1Playbook. Playbook Premium

Apple and Google run their own refund processes separate from Playbook:

A credit card chargeback is a last resort if you’re being charged after what you thought was a cancellation. Banks typically charge $15 to $35 to place a stop-payment order on a recurring charge, and the process can take weeks.

After You Cancel

You keep access to the workout library until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancel on day 3 of a monthly subscription and you still have the rest of that month. Cancel in March of an annual plan that runs through December and you have access through December.

A confirmation email should arrive within a few hours. If it doesn’t, check your spam folder, then log back into your Apple, Google, or Playbook account to verify the subscription shows as canceled or expired. Save that confirmation in case an unexpected charge shows up later.
