How to Cancel Your Skool Subscription or Free Trial

Canceling a Skool subscription takes about two minutes, but the right path depends on whether you joined someone else’s paid community or run your own group on the platform. Both cancellations happen inside Skool’s settings, and both should be done at least 24 hours before your next billing date so the system has time to process the change.1Skool Help Center. How to Cancel My Membership to a Community Pick the wrong path and you’ll keep getting charged while thinking you’ve canceled.

First, Figure Out Which Subscription You Have

Skool bills in two separate ways, and one cancellation won’t touch the other.

  • A paid community membership means you joined a group someone else runs and pay a recurring fee that creator sets. Canceling removes you from that one group.
  • A group owner subscription means you pay Skool directly to host your own community, following a 14-day free trial. Canceling archives your entire group.2Skool. Skool Pricing

If you have both, cancel each one separately.

Canceling a Paid Community Membership

On desktop, click your profile picture in the upper-right corner and open Settings. Go to the Communities tab, find the group you want to leave, and click Settings next to it. Click Manage Membership and follow the prompts.1Skool Help Center. How to Cancel My Membership to a Community

In the mobile app, tap the three-dot menu, then Group Settings, then Manage Membership, and complete the cancellation there.1Skool Help Center. How to Cancel My Membership to a Community

Your access doesn’t cut off right away. You keep the community through the end of your current billing cycle, and once that date passes you’re removed from the group.1Skool Help Center. How to Cancel My Membership to a Community

Canceling a Group Owner Subscription

If you host your own community, the cancel option lives inside the group’s settings, not your personal account settings. Open Community Settings, click Settings for the group, open the Billing tab, click Manage Subscription, then select Cancel Subscription.3Skool Help Center. In the mobile app, the top settings menu scrolls horizontally. The Billing tab is easy to miss on a small screen.3Skool Help Center. How to Cancel My Skool Group Subscription or Free Trial

You keep the group through the end of your billing period. After that, it’s archived: existing content stays intact but becomes read-only, no one can post new discussions or add course material, and members lose active access.4Skool Help Center. Canceling During the Free Trial

Skool’s 14-day free trial for new group owners converts automatically to a paid subscription if you don’t cancel before it ends.4Skool Help Center. Once the trial converts and the first charge goes through, subscription fees are non-refundable. There is no grace period after conversion.4Skool Help Center. Payment Terms and Policy Set a calendar reminder a couple of days before the trial ends if you’re not sure you want to continue.

Can You Get a Refund?

For group owners, no. Skool’s policy is no refunds for full or partial billing periods, including for unused time. Canceling stops future charges, but you won’t get money back for the current cycle.4Skool Help Center. Payment Terms and Policy

For paid community members, refunds depend on the group’s admin, not Skool. Canceling or leaving a group doesn’t trigger a refund by itself. If you want your money back, message the group admin through Skool Chat or their support email, and the admin issues the refund on their end if they agree you’re eligible.5Skool Help Center. If You Can’t Find the Cancel Button

Check that you’re logged into the right account first. People who signed up with a Google login sometimes end up with a second account tied to an email and password, and the subscription sits on the other one. If you’re on mobile and the Billing tab or cancel option isn’t visible, switch to a desktop browser.

After You Cancel

Either way, your access continues through the end of what you’ve already paid for. No early cutoff, no partial refund.

Members get removed from the group once the billing cycle ends. Your posts and course progress may remain on the platform, but you can’t see or interact with them unless you rejoin.1Skool Help Center. How to Cancel My Membership to a Community

Group owners see the group move to an archived, read-only state with all content preserved. Reactivate later and the group picks up where it left off.4Skool Help Center. Payment Terms and Policy

Check your bank or card statement about a week after your cycle ends to confirm no further charges. If one shows up, contact support with the cancellation confirmation you received.
