How to Cancel Your Zapier Subscription: Steps, Refunds, and Annual Plans

To cancel a Zapier subscription, open the Billing and usage page, click Manage, and select the Free plan. That’s the whole cancellation. Your paid features stay active until the end of the billing period you already paid for, then the account drops to the Free tier. Zapier does not issue refunds for unused time, so timing the cancellation around your renewal date matters more than the clicks themselves.1Zapier. Cancel Your Zapier Plan

Who in the Account Can Cancel

On a Professional (single-user) plan, the account holder is the Owner and can cancel directly. On Team and Enterprise accounts, only an Admin, Super Admin, or Owner can change the plan. Regular Members cannot touch billing, so if you’re a Member and the subscription needs to end, you have to ask someone with the right role to do it.2Zapier. The Cancellation Steps

Zapier doesn’t have a dedicated cancel button. Downgrading to Free is the cancellation.

Expect retention prompts and a short “why are you leaving” questionnaire before the confirmation screen appears. A confirmation email follows. Keep it. If a charge posts later that shouldn’t, that email is your evidence.1Zapier. Cancel Your Zapier Plan

What Happens to Your Zaps After You Downgrade

Paid features keep working until your current billing period ends. Cancel on day 10 of a monthly cycle and you have roughly 20 more days at the paid level before the downgrade applies.1Zapier. Cancel Your Zapier Plan

Once you’re on Free, the account is limited to 100 tasks per month, two-step Zaps only (one trigger, one action), no premium apps, and a single user. Any Zap that doesn’t fit those limits — multi-step workflows, anything using a premium app, team-shared Zaps — gets paused automatically. The workflows aren’t deleted immediately, but they won’t run again until you either simplify them or re-upgrade.3Zapier. What’s Included in Zapier’s Free Plan

Refunds: Zapier Doesn’t Give Them

All Zapier purchases are non-refundable. That covers monthly plans, annual plans, upgrades, renewals, and add-ons. There is no prorated refund for unused time and no grace period for accidental renewals.4Zapier. Zapier Refund Policy

Free trials follow the same rule. If a trial converts because you forgot to cancel and your card was on file, the charge is final. Zapier’s own guidance is to check your billing settings regularly to catch upcoming charges. For a charge you believe was genuinely unauthorized, your card issuer’s dispute process is a separate avenue, but Zapier itself will not reverse a “forgot to cancel” charge.

Annual Plans: Cancel Before the Renewal Date

Annual billing prepays 12 months at a discount. Canceling mid-term keeps your access until the annual period ends, with nothing refunded for the remaining months.1Zapier. Cancel Your Zapier Plan Once the annual renewal charge processes, you’re committed to another full year with no way to claw the money back.

Set a reminder a week or two before the renewal date so you can cancel in front of the charge rather than behind it. If you’re switching from annual to a different billing interval instead of leaving entirely, any remaining credit on your current plan is applied before a new charge posts.5Zapier. Export Your Data Before Access Drops

Zapier keeps Zap content and run history in your account for 29 to 69 days, with backups surviving up to four months. After that, it’s gone.6Zapier. Data Retention/Deletion/Export

You can export Zap run history in CSV or JSON, up to 5,000 runs at a time. Select the runs, choose a format, and Zapier emails a download link to your account address.7Zapier. Export Your Zap History Do this while the paid plan is still active, because history for paused or deleted Zaps gets harder to reach on the Free tier.

If someone else in your organization needs certain workflows to keep running, you can transfer them, provided at least one account involved is on a Team or Enterprise plan. From your account icon, select “Move Zap workflows,” check the ones you want, and choose the destination account. The Zaps keep their on/off state, but run history from before the move stays with the original account.8Zapier. Move Zap Workflows Between Accounts

Getting Your Payment Method Removed

You cannot remove a credit card from a Zapier account on your own. Even after canceling, the payment details stay on file, and the only way to take them off is to contact Zapier support directly.9Zapier. View and Update Your Billing Information

This matters because if the card stays on file and something triggers an upgrade or a trial conversion, the charge goes through. After you cancel, message support to have the payment method deleted, or replace it with a virtual card number you can deactivate on your end.

Canceling vs. Deleting the Account

Canceling moves you to the Free plan. Deleting erases the account entirely, including all Zap workflows, developer apps, and app connections, with no recovery.10Zapier. Delete Your Zapier Account

To delete, go to Settings, then under “My account” choose “Security and data,” find “Delete my data” under “Data management,” click the trash icon, and confirm. A confirmation email follows, and full deletion can take up to two days.11Zapier. Export or Delete Your Zapier Account Data

One warning worth taking seriously: if you’re the Owner of a Team or Enterprise account and you delete yourself, the entire team account goes with you. Every member loses access to the shared workspace and all shared workflows. Transfer ownership first if the organization still needs the account.10Zapier. Delete Your Zapier Account

If You Bought Through AWS Marketplace

Subscriptions purchased through AWS Marketplace cannot be canceled from Zapier’s billing page. Sign in to the AWS Marketplace console, open Manage Subscriptions, filter by SaaS, select the Zapier subscription, and choose “Cancel subscription” from the Actions menu.12Amazon Web Services. Canceling Product Subscriptions That stops future charges only. Refunds for past billing would have to come from Zapier as the seller, and the no-refund policy still applies.
