How to Complete the MyLife Opt-Out Form and Remove Your Data

To opt out of MyLife, copy the URL of your Reputation Profile from a MyLife search result and submit it through the privacy request form at mylife.com/privacyrequest, by email to privacy@mylife.com, or by phone at 888-704-1900. MyLife typically processes removals within about 14 business days. California residents have an additional route through the state’s new DROP platform, which sends a single deletion request to hundreds of registered data brokers at once.1California Privacy Protection Agency. Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP)

Find and Copy Your Profile URL

Every removal method requires the exact link to your listing. Go to mylife.com and search your first and last name. If your name is common, add a city or state to narrow results. When you spot your record, do not click into it. Right-click your name in the search results and select “Copy Link Address.” That copied URL is what the privacy team uses to locate and delete the correct profile.

Confirm the age and location shown in the preview match yours before copying. A wrong link flags someone else’s profile and leaves yours live.

Submit Through the Online Privacy Request Form

The online form is the most direct path. Go to mylife.com/privacyrequest, or scroll to the bottom of MyLife’s homepage and click “Do Not Sell My Personal Information.”2California Department of Justice – Office of the Attorney General. Data Broker Registration for MyLife.com, Inc.

Enter your first and last name, your email address, and the profile URL. MyLife emails a verification code to the address you provided. Paste it back into the form and click “Confirm Code.” Additional fields will appear once you’re verified. Fill in the required ones (marked with an asterisk), complete the CAPTCHA, and submit. Skip anything optional. There’s no reason to hand MyLife more data than the request needs.

A confirmation email usually arrives within 24 to 48 hours. Save it. If the profile is still up after 14 business days, that email is your proof you submitted on time.

Submit by Email

If the form fails, email privacy@mylife.com with a subject line like “Data Removal Request” so it doesn’t get lost.

Include:

  • The profile URL you copied from search results.
  • Your full legal name as it appears on the listing.
  • Your current and past addresses, so MyLife can match you to the right record if more than one profile exists.
  • A clear deletion statement, such as: “I request permanent deletion of my personal information and Reputation Profile under applicable privacy laws, including the CCPA.”

Ask for written confirmation once the data is removed. Most senders get an automated acknowledgment quickly, then a more detailed reply from the privacy team. Keep both messages.

Do Not Send Sensitive Identifiers

Never include your Social Security number, driver’s license number, or financial account information in an opt-out email. MyLife does not need any of these to locate your profile. Your name, email, address history, and the profile link are enough.

Submit by Phone

Call 888-704-1900, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time. Navigate the menu toward account or privacy options to reach a representative. Have your profile URL, full name, and address history ready.

Tell the representative you want to opt out and have your Reputation Profile deleted. You’ll go through a verbal identity check. Before ending the call, ask for a reference or confirmation number and write it down. Phone calls don’t create the automatic paper trail that email does, and that number is your only proof if the request stalls.

If nothing has happened after 14 business days, call back and reference the confirmation number. One published removal guide suggests asking for a different representative if the first attempt goes nowhere.3CBS News. How To Remove Your Personal Information From MyLife.Com, White Pages And Intelius

California Residents: Use the DROP Platform

California’s Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform, known as DROP, launched January 1, 2026. A single submission covers over 500 registered data brokers, MyLife included.1California Privacy Protection Agency. Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP)

Three steps:

  • Verify California residency through one of the platform’s trusted verification partners.
  • Create a profile with basic information such as name, address, email, phone, and date of birth. You choose how much to share, and the platform hashes your data so it can’t be reverse-engineered.
  • Submit the request. One submission reaches every registered broker.

Beginning August 1, 2026, brokers must process DROP requests and delete your information within 90 days, then check for new requests every 45 days after that.1California Privacy Protection Agency. Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP) Even if you’ve already sent MyLife a direct request, filing through DROP creates a recurring obligation to keep purging your data as it gets re-scraped.

DROP is only available to California residents. If you live elsewhere, the direct methods above are your route.

Verify the Profile Is Gone

About 14 business days after you submit, open an incognito or private browser window and paste in the profile URL you originally copied. Incognito prevents cached pages from showing you a stale version. You should see a 404 or page-not-found. If the profile still loads, contact MyLife again with your confirmation number or email thread.

Clear Google’s Cached Copy

Even after MyLife takes the page down, it can sit in Google’s index for weeks. Speed the process using Google’s Refresh Outdated Content tool at search.google.com/search-console/remove-outdated-content.4Google Search Console Help. Refresh Outdated Content Tool

Sign into any Google account, paste the dead URL, and submit. If old content still shows in cache, the tool may ask you to enter one or two words that appeared in the cached snippet but not on the live page. Status moves through Pending, Approved, Denied, or Expired, and approvals usually take a few days. Submit a separate request for each URL if your profile appeared under more than one.

Clear Bing’s Cached Copy

Bing runs its own Content Removal Tool at bing.com/webmasters/tools/contentremoval.5Bing Webmaster Help. How To Permanently Remove a URL or Page from Bing or Copilot Paste the deleted URL and submit. The same request also covers results served through Copilot, Microsoft’s AI search assistant.

Keep Your Profile From Coming Back

Data brokers pull from public records, voter registrations, property filings, address changes filed with the postal service, and commercially available marketing lists. MyLife can rebuild your listing weeks after removal if fresh data flows in from any of those sources. A single opt-out is not permanent.

Steps that reduce the chance of re-population:

  • Tighten privacy settings on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Public profiles feed broker databases directly.
  • Turn off marketing data sharing in the privacy settings of loyalty programs, bank accounts, and mobile apps. Many share by default.
  • Use a P.O. Box for public filings where possible. Property records and voter rolls are prime sources.
  • Search your name on MyLife every few months. If a new listing appears, submit another request.

Paid data-removal services automate monitoring across dozens of broker sites, typically for roughly $20 to $129 per year depending on coverage. Whether that’s worth it depends on how many brokers hold your data and how often it resurfaces. California residents using DROP get much of that ongoing protection at no cost.

If MyLife Ignores Your Request

An opt-out request is enforceable under law, not a favor. The California Consumer Privacy Act gives residents the right to demand deletion, and the California Privacy Protection Agency can impose administrative fines on companies that intentionally ignore valid requests.6California Privacy Protection Agency. If a properly documented request goes unanswered, escalate:

  • California residents can file a complaint with the California Privacy Protection Agency, which administers the CCPA and the Delete Act.8California Privacy Protection Agency. Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform (DROP)
  • The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau accepts complaints about companies handling consumer data at consumerfinance.gov/complaint.9Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Consumer Complaint Database
  • The FTC doesn’t resolve individual disputes, but complaints at ftc.gov/complaint feed pattern analysis that can trigger investigations.

Before you escalate, gather your original request, confirmation emails or reference numbers, dated screenshots showing the profile still live, and records of any follow-up attempts. That documentation is what a regulator can actually act on.
