How to Fill Out and Submit the ALDI Complaint Form

To file a complaint with ALDI, use the contact form at help.aldi.us, where you’ll pick one of three routes depending on whether your issue is about a product, a store experience, or something else. For a defective or poor-quality food item, you can skip the form entirely and bring the product to any ALDI location for a refund plus a replacement under the Twice as Nice Guarantee.

Where to Find the ALDI Complaint Form

Go to help.aldi.us and scroll to the “Still Need Help?” section at the bottom of the page. Three contact links appear, each routing to a different team:

  • Product Concerns/Questions, for issues with items you bought in-store, such as spoiled food, broken packaging, or mislabeled products.
  • Store Concerns/Questions, for problems with the store itself: cleanliness, staff behavior, checkout wait times, or anything else about your in-store experience.
  • Other, for anything that doesn’t fit the first two categories, like gift cards, store hours, or corporate policies.

Pick carefully. Choosing “Product Concerns” when your real complaint is a rude cashier sends the message to a team that handles inventory and suppliers rather than personnel, and you’ll wait longer for a response that may never address what you actually wrote about.

What to Put in the Form

Specific submissions move faster. Before you start typing, pull together:

  • Your receipt. The store number printed near the top, the transaction number, and the date and time of your visit let ALDI’s team locate the exact event in their system.
  • Product details. Note the item name, size, and any lot or date codes on the packaging.
  • A factual description of what happened. “The chicken breast package was bloated and smelled off when I opened it on the sell-by date” gives the team something to investigate. “The food was bad” does not.
  • Names or descriptions of any staff involved, so managers can identify the right shift and person.

Keep the tone straightforward. Say what happened, when it happened, and what you want ALDI to do about it.

After You Submit

When you finish the form and clear the captcha, a confirmation screen appears. Screenshot it. That’s your proof the complaint was received. ALDI does not publish a guaranteed response time for online submissions, so if your issue is urgent or involves food safety, don’t wait on an email. Call or visit the store directly.

The Twice as Nice Guarantee: A Faster Route for Food Complaints

For grocery items you weren’t satisfied with, the store is a stronger channel than the form. Under ALDI’s Twice as Nice Guarantee, the store will replace an eligible food product and refund your money. Both, not one or the other. Bring the packaging and any unused portion to the store manager.1ALDI. Twice As Nice Guarantee

With a receipt, the refund goes back to your original form of payment. Without one, you get an ALDI Merchandise Credit gift card for the item’s current retail price.1ALDI. Twice As Nice Guarantee

Some items don’t qualify:

  • Non-food ALDI Finds, meaning the rotating specialty items like kitchen gadgets, seasonal décor, and clothing.
  • Alcohol. Beer, wine, and spirits are excluded.
  • National brands sold at ALDI but made by outside companies.
  • Non-quality issues. If you changed your mind or grabbed the wrong item, that’s the standard return policy, not the guarantee.

The guarantee also applies only to items purchased in-store, not to orders placed through delivery services.1ALDI. Twice As Nice Guarantee

If Your Order Came Through Instacart

Complaints about ALDI groceries ordered through Instacart, whether missing items, damaged products, or wrong substitutions, don’t go through ALDI’s form or the store. Only Instacart can process a refund for an order placed on its platform, and you have three days from pickup or delivery to report the problem through the Instacart app or website under “Get help” or “Report a problem” on the affected order.2Instacart Help Center. When the Form Isn’t the Right Tool

Some complaints deserve a different route from the start. Urgent food safety issues, like a foreign object in a product or suspected contamination, belong with the store manager, who has authority to pull products from shelves immediately and start the Twice as Nice process on the spot.

If ALDI’s response to your complaint doesn’t resolve it, you have options. You can resubmit through the online form with more detail and a reference to your earlier submission. For a significant dollar amount, small claims court is available in every state for consumer disputes, with filing fees typically running from $30 to $300 depending on jurisdiction and claim size. For food safety concerns, the FDA Safety Reporting Portal at safetyreporting.hhs.gov triggers a regulatory review independent of ALDI’s internal process.
