Which Tests Auburn Accepts
You only need one of three tests:3Auburn University Medical Clinic. Tuberculin Testing Form
- TB skin test (PPD), read 48 to 72 hours after it is placed, with the result recorded in millimeters of induration rather than a simple positive or negative.
- T-SPOT blood test, a single draw with lab-reported results.
- QuantiFERON-TB Gold blood test, also a single draw with lab-reported results.
If you received the BCG vaccine as a child, a blood test is usually the better choice. BCG can trigger a false positive on a skin test but does not affect blood-based results.
Chest X-rays are not accepted in place of a skin or blood test, even if you have had one done recently.3Auburn University Medical Clinic. Tuberculin Testing Form
Filling Out the Form
The form has three sections.3Auburn University Medical Clinic. Tuberculin Testing Form
Patient Information
Before your appointment, fill in your name, date of birth, email address, and Auburn ID number. Verify the ID number. A wrong digit can delay processing on the university’s end.
Test Results
Your provider completes this section. For a blood test, the form asks for the draw date, which test was used, and whether the result was negative or positive. For a skin test, the provider records the date placed, the date read, and the result in millimeters. A checkmark next to “negative” with no millimeter measurement will likely be rejected, so make sure the provider writes the actual reading.
Verification
The provider signs the form, dates it, and stamps or writes the facility name. If the stamp or signature looks hard to read, ask them to print the facility name legibly. The clinic may need to contact the office to verify results.
Submitting Through Med+Proctor
Auburn uses Med+Proctor for all immunization and testing records. Create your account using your @auburn.edu email address, then upload the signed form as a PDF or image with the full page legible, including the signature and facility stamp.4Auburn University. The Six-Month Deadline and Registration Holds
The test date must fall within six months of the first day of class for your starting semester.1Auburn University Medical Clinic. Med+Proctor A test done eight months out will not be accepted, even with a normal result. If your start date changes, recount the window from the new first day of class.
Students who have not completed Med+Proctor’s medical requirements, including TB testing, can expect a hold that blocks course registration. Submit well before orientation. Peak enrollment slows processing, and a rejected upload the day before classes is not a problem you want.
Getting Tested at the Campus Clinic
Any licensed healthcare provider can perform the test, but the Auburn University Medical Clinic offers all three options by appointment at these fees:1Auburn University Medical Clinic. Med+Proctor
