When you hit submit, the system generates a QR code and a reference number and emails both to you. Save the QR code in at least two places: a screenshot on your phone and a printed copy in your carry-on. The QR code is what the immigration officer scans to pull up your declaration. If your confirmation doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check spam. If it still doesn’t appear, restart the process and submit again. The system does not save partial entries.
What Happens at the Airport or Port
After leaving the aircraft or ship, follow the signs to the immigration hall. Present your passport and QR code to an officer, or scan them at an automated kiosk. The officer matches your physical passport against your digital filing and may ask about your trip purpose and length of stay.
Once cleared, collect your luggage and proceed to customs. Officers there may ask to see the QR code again to verify your declarations, particularly around currency and restricted goods. If everything matches, this step is quick.
If you arrive without a completed C5, you won’t be turned away. Wi-Fi is available in the arrival hall, and paper C5 cards remain available as a backup.6Jamaica Information Service. Incoming Travellers Must Fill Out Immigration Form Online Filing on arrival, though, means the longest line.
