The Leupold warranty request form is a downloadable PDF at leupold.com/return-warranty-services. Print it, fill it out by hand, and pack it inside the box with your optic before shipping to Leupold’s service center in Beaverton, Oregon. Most optical products are covered under a Full Lifetime Guarantee with no proof of purchase, no warranty card, and no registration required. Turnaround runs roughly four to six weeks.1Leupold. Call Before You Ship
A phone call can save you a trip to the post office. Leupold’s technical service representatives can sometimes resolve issues over the phone, rule out user error, or confirm whether your problem qualifies for warranty service before you box anything up. The number is 1-800-LEUPOLD.1Leupold. Return and Warranty Services
What Goes on the Form
Download the form from leupold.com/return-warranty-services and print it. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required: your contact information, the product’s serial number, and a description of the problem.1Leupold. Return and Warranty Services
The serial number is the most important entry. It tells Leupold the exact model, manufacturing date, and specifications of your optic. On most riflescopes, it’s engraved on the tube body near the objective or eyepiece housing. Write it down separately and keep a copy in your own records before shipping, in case you need to follow up on a lost package or a delayed repair.
Be specific in the problem description. “Reticle drifts after three shots” gives a technician something to work with; “scope doesn’t work” does not. Note the conditions where the failure shows up, such as heavy recoil, extreme cold, or high humidity. That context helps narrow down the cause.
If you can’t print the form, Leupold accepts a handwritten note covering the same details: name, address, phone number, serial number, and what’s wrong. Include the note in the box with the optic.1Leupold. Return and Warranty Services
Packing and Shipping
You’re responsible for the product until Leupold’s service center receives it, so pack it to survive rough handling. A scope that arrives with shipping damage is harder to evaluate under warranty.
- Remove all accessories before packing. Take off mounting rings, scope covers, lens covers, straps, and anything else attached. Leupold isn’t responsible for accessories lost or damaged during intake.1Leupold. Return and Warranty Services
- Use the original factory box if you still have it. If not, wrap the optic in bubble wrap or foam and place it in a sturdy corrugated box with enough padding to prevent movement.
- Seal with filament strapping tape. Regular packing tape can split during mechanized sorting.
- Put the completed form (or your handwritten note) inside the box with the product.

Turnaround and What Happens If It’s Not Covered
Warranty service currently runs about four to six weeks. That window stretches during peak seasons — fall hunting prep pushes volume up — so plan accordingly if you have a deadline.1Leupold. Return and Warranty Services
If the technician finds damage that falls outside warranty coverage, such as damage from modification, misuse, accident, or misapplication, you’ll receive a repair estimate for your approval before any paid work begins. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed to.2Leupold. Lifetime Guarantee
One thing to watch: warranty products left unclaimed for more than one year after repair may be forfeited. If Leupold contacts you about a completed repair, respond promptly.2Leupold. Lifetime Guarantee
Rangefinders Follow a Different Warranty
If you’re sending in an RX rangefinder or a BX rangefinding binocular, the electronic components are covered under a separate Electronics Limited Five-Year Guarantee running five years from the date of purchase, not the unlimited lifetime coverage. Proof of purchase may be required to verify the warranty period, so include your receipt with the form if you have it.2Leupold. Lifetime Guarantee
Counterfeits Are Not Repaired
Leupold does not repair or cover counterfeit products under the lifetime guarantee, and fakes are regularly sent in for service. If you bought your optic from a marketplace such as Wish, AliExpress, Alibaba, or iOffer, verify authenticity before shipping by calling 1-800-LEUPOLD with the serial number.3Leupold. International Customers
If you’re outside the United States, don’t use the standard warranty flow above. Leupold directs international customers to a separate service process at leupold.com/international-product-service.1Leupold. Return and Warranty Services
