How to Fill Out and Submit the NCEES Transcript Request Form

The NCEES transcript request form lives inside your MyNCEES account at ncees.org and authorizes your college or university to send an official academic transcript directly to the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying for PE or PS exam approval or to build an NCEES Record. NCEES doesn’t charge for the request, but your school will usually charge its own transcript fee, typically between $10 and $30.

Set Up Your MyNCEES Account

Everything runs through the MyNCEES portal, so create an account first if you don’t have one. Registration is free and needs only your name, email, and contact information. One detail matters more than it looks: the name on your MyNCEES account must match the name on your transcript exactly. A mismatch will hold up verification.

Filling Out the Request in MyNCEES

Once you’re logged in, open the education section of your dashboard. You’ll enter your institution’s name, the dates you attended, and the degree title as it appears on your diploma or academic record. If your school has since renamed itself, enter the name it used while you were enrolled and check whether the current registrar still processes requests under the old name.

The portal asks for your degree conferral date because NCEES needs the final transcript with the degree posted, not a mid-semester version. You can submit the request before you graduate, but you’ll have to send an updated transcript once your degree is conferred.

You’ll also provide the registrar’s contact information. Many schools deliver electronically through Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse, and the portal may ask for the registrar’s email so NCEES can send a secure delivery link. If your school doesn’t offer electronic delivery, the system generates a printable form the registrar can use to mail the transcript to NCEES at 200 Verdae Blvd, Greenville, SC 29607.

Place the Matching Order With Your Registrar

Completing the NCEES side doesn’t move any paper. You still need to place a separate transcript order through your school’s registrar or its vendor, and that’s where your university’s transcript fee applies. Include your MyNCEES account number on that order so the transcript can be matched to your file when it arrives.1NCEES Knowledge Base. Academic Transcript FAQs Without that number, the document can land at NCEES and sit unmatched.

Do not have the transcript sent to yourself to forward on. Official transcripts must arrive at NCEES directly from the institution, with no exceptions, even if the envelope is still sealed.2NCEES Knowledge Base. Tracking and Verification

Your MyNCEES dashboard shows the status of each request in the education section. A new entry appears as pending until the school sends the document, then updates when it arrives. Allow five to seven business days after arrival for staff to verify and upload it.3NCEES Knowledge Base. Transcript Verification Time Frame

If something is off — the transcript came from the wrong source, it’s unofficial, or the degree isn’t posted — NCEES will notify you with what needs to be resubmitted. Once verified, the transcript clears the education requirement and your application moves to the licensing board’s technical review.

If Your Degree Is From Outside the United States

A foreign degree needs more than the transcript request. NCEES runs a separate Credentials Evaluation to determine whether your education meets the NCEES Engineering Education Standard, with its own fee of $400.4NCEES Knowledge Base. NCEES Credentials Evaluation FAQs Your institution still sends the official transcript directly to NCEES the same way a U.S. school would.5NCEES. Credentials Evaluations The evaluation section appears in your MyNCEES account automatically when your listed education triggers it, and you purchase the evaluation after documentation has been verified. The review adds processing time beyond the standard transcript verification window, so build that into any exam registration deadline you’re chasing.
