How to Fill Out and Submit the Uline Employment Application Form

The Uline employment application lives entirely at uline.jobs, which runs on the Workday applicant tracking system. You browse openings, create a candidate profile, fill out several screens of personal and work history, authorize a background check, and submit. Depending on the role, you may also be sent one or more online assessments before a recruiter reviews your file.

Where to Apply and What Jobs Are Posted

Open positions are listed at uline.jobs. The site sorts them into four tracks: Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, and Corporate. The Corporate track breaks down further into departments including Creative, Direct Marketing, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Internet, IT, Merchandising, Operations, and Purchasing.

You can filter by location. Uline runs distribution branches in regions across the country and a corporate campus in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, so the posting you choose is tied to a specific branch.1Uline. What to Have Ready Before You Start

Workday will ask you to create an account with an email and password before you can enter any application data. The profile stores your login so you can come back later to check status or apply for other roles without starting over.

Gather these before you open the application so you don’t lose your session halfway through:

  • A current resume in PDF or Word format.
  • Exact start and end dates for every prior job. Guessing can cause problems during background verification.
  • Supervisor names and contact information for past employers.
  • Education details: schools, degrees, graduation dates.
  • Two or three professional references with current contact information and a note on how they know you.

Filling Out the Application Screens

The application moves through several screens. Required fields are marked with an asterisk, and you can’t advance until every one is complete.

Personal Information

The first section asks for your full legal name, current address, phone number, and email. Match the name on your government-issued ID exactly. Mismatches can slow the background check later.

Work History

Most people spend the bulk of their time on employment history. For each prior job you enter the employer, title, start and end dates, and a description of your responsibilities. Copying from your resume is fine as long as dates and titles match. Recruiters notice when they don’t, and inconsistencies invite questions you don’t want to answer.

False information on an employment application, whether an inflated title, a hidden gap, or a fabricated degree, can disqualify you outright or get you terminated after hire. Uline, like most employers, treats application fraud as grounds for dismissal regardless of job performance.

Education and Skills

Enter your highest level of education and any specialized training. Warehouse roles may not require a degree, but forklift certifications, OSHA training, and relevant technical skills are worth listing. Corporate and sales positions typically expect a bachelor’s degree, with space to enter major and graduation year.

Background Check Authorization

Near the end of the application you’ll see a disclosure and consent form for a background check. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, employers have to give you a standalone written notice that they intend to pull a consumer report, and get your written permission before doing so. The disclosure must appear on its own, not bundled with other terms.2Federal Trade Commission. Background Checks on Prospective Employees: Keep Required Disclosures Simple

Workday handles this as a separate screen. You read the disclosure and either check a box or provide an electronic signature. Under the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, that electronic authorization carries the same legal weight as a pen-and-paper signature.3Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 U.S.C. Chapter 96 – Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce

Voluntary Self-Identification

After the core fields, the system presents optional self-identification surveys covering gender, ethnicity, race, disability status, and veteran status. These are federally required for large government contractors like Uline, but your responses are voluntary and kept separate from the hiring decision. “I do not wish to answer” is a valid choice on any of them and will not affect your candidacy.4U.S. Department of Labor. Review and Submit

Before the final submit button, Workday shows a review screen with everything you’ve entered. Scroll through it. Catch typos in your phone number, mismatched employment dates, and any resume file that didn’t upload. Once you submit, an automated confirmation email arrives within minutes. Save it as proof of filing. You can also log back into your profile anytime to check status.

Assessments You May Be Sent

Submitting the application isn’t always the last step before a human reviews your file. For many positions Uline sends online assessments, sometimes before your application reaches a recruiter.

The most common is the Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test: 50 questions on math, reading comprehension, logic, and general knowledge, in a 12-minute window. The time pressure is the real challenge. Most people don’t finish all 50, and that’s expected. Accuracy on the questions you answer matters more than racing through every one.

Depending on the role you may also get a personality assessment, a customer service scenario test, or a sales aptitude evaluation. Some candidates report the full battery running over an hour. Complete them promptly. Delays can read as low interest.

After You Submit

Timeline and Interviews

Expect an initial response within one to three weeks. If there’s a match, the first contact is usually a phone screen with a recruiter covering your background, interest in the role, and salary expectations. Candidates who pass move to an in-person or video interview, often with the hiring manager for that department or branch. The full process from application to offer typically runs two to four weeks, longer for senior or specialized roles. If you haven’t heard anything after three weeks, checking status in your Workday profile is more reliable than calling.

Drug Testing

Uline runs drug screening after extending a conditional job offer. The company uses hair follicle testing rather than a urine test, which detects substances over roughly a 90-day window. If you’ve shaved your head, the facility may collect body hair instead. The test happens in the days following your offer, before your start date. Uline also conducts random testing of current employees and post-accident testing if an injury occurs on the job.

Form I-9 and Document Verification

On or before your first day you’ll complete Form I-9 to verify identity and work authorization. You need original documents. Photocopies won’t work. You can satisfy the requirement with one List A document (such as a U.S. passport or permanent resident card), or one List B document (such as a state driver’s license) paired with one List C document (such as an unrestricted Social Security card). All documents must be unexpired.5U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Employment Eligibility Verification

Have your documents ready before your start date. Failing to produce acceptable I-9 documents within three business days of hire can result in termination regardless of how onboarding is otherwise going.

A Few Things to Know Going In

Uline’s dress code is more formal than most distribution employers, which is worth knowing before your interview rather than your first day. Corporate and customer service employees are expected in professional business attire, and some roles require a full suit. Business casual is allowed on Fridays at most locations. Warehouse roles have different standards suited to physical work.

On compensation, Uline lists annual performance bonuses, a profit-sharing program, a retirement savings plan with employer contributions, healthcare coverage, Flexible Spending Accounts, a medical premium stipend, and paid time off that grows with tenure. Tuition reimbursement for job-related courses and college scholarships for employees’ children are also part of the package.6Uline Careers. There Is No Limit to What You Can Accomplish
