How to Fill Out and Submit the Whatnot Buyer Giveaway Form (AMOE)

The Whatnot buyer giveaway form, officially the Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE), is a short web form that lets you enter a Buyer Appreciation Giveaway for free, without making a purchase during the live show. It asks for six things: first name, last name, email address, full mailing address, Giveaway ID, and Show ID. You reach it from inside the Whatnot app, and it takes about two minutes once you have the two IDs in hand.1Whatnot Help Center. Enter a Buyer Appreciation Giveaway

How to Open the Form

The AMOE form is not a page you can bookmark and use on its own. The two IDs it requires live inside the app, tied to a specific show and giveaway, so the path starts there.

During a Livestream

Open the Whatnot app and go to the livestream running the giveaway. Once the seller pins a Buyer Appreciation giveaway, look for the “Buyer Appreciation” label under the giveaway description at the bottom of the stream. Tap “Learn More” to open the giveaway details page and copy the Giveaway ID. Then tap the “Learn More” link under the Buyer Appreciation Giveaway section to launch the web form in your browser.1Whatnot Help Center. Enter a Buyer Appreciation Giveaway

Before the Giveaway Goes Live

To enter ahead of the show, open the livestream page and tap the Store icon in the bottom-right corner. Switch to the Giveaway tab and tap the Buyer Appreciation listing. On the details page, copy both the Giveaway ID and the Live ID. Then tap “Enter Giveaway Online (AMOE)” to open the form.1Whatnot Help Center. Enter a Buyer Appreciation Giveaway

What Each Field Wants

The form has six fields, and any of them entered incorrectly can knock your entry out of the drawing. Fill them in like this:

  • First name and last name: the name on your Whatnot account, split across two fields. Do not use your username or a screen name.
  • Email address: the exact email tied to your Whatnot account. A mismatched email may stop the platform from linking your entry to your profile.2Whatnot. Giveaway AMOE Form
  • Full mailing address: street address, city, state, zip code, and country. This is the shipping destination if you win.
  • Giveaway ID: the unique number for the specific giveaway, copied from the giveaway details page in the app.
  • Show ID: the ID number of the live show hosting the giveaway, also on the giveaway details page.2Whatnot. Giveaway AMOE Form

The form does not ask for your Whatnot username. It identifies you through your email and the two IDs, so those three fields are the ones to double-check before you submit. The most common errors are typing a username where the name field is, or guessing at the Giveaway ID instead of copying it from the details page.

Who Can Use the Form

The AMOE form is only available to users in the United States and Canada. Buyer Appreciation Giveaways run in more countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Austria, and Belgium, but buyers outside the U.S. and Canada enter by making a qualifying purchase rather than through the free form.1Whatnot Help Center. You need an active Whatnot account to enter. The platform requires account holders to be at least 18, though teens aged 13 to 17 can use an account owned by a parent or guardian with that adult’s permission and supervision.3Whatnot Help Center. Submitting the Form

After filling in all six fields, tap submit. You may see a CAPTCHA step to screen out bots. A confirmation message means your entry has been added to the randomized drawing pool alongside buyers who entered by purchasing.

Whatnot’s randomizer picks winners during the livestream and shows the result on screen. You do not need to be watching, and you do not need to respond or claim the prize at the time of the drawing.5Whatnot Help Center. Sellers cannot add extra requirements on top of Whatnot’s giveaway feature, and they cannot require a purchase to win.5Whatnot Help Center. Why the Free Form Is There

A promotion that combines a prize, random selection, and a required payment meets the legal definition of an illegal lottery in every state. The AMOE form gives Buyer Appreciation Giveaways a free path to entry, which is what lets them run as sweepstakes rather than lotteries.7United States Postal Inspection Service.
