The TT Services consent form for a Canada visa is a short PDF you download from VFS Global, complete with your identifying details, sign in the sections that match your situation (applicant information, biometrics choice, and representative authorization if applicable), and hand in with your documents at the Visa Application Centre. Without a properly signed copy, VAC staff will not accept your application or forward it to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Where to Download the Current Version
The form is free on the VFS Global portal for your country of application. Go to the country-specific VFS site (for example, visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/can for applicants in the United States), open the “Passport Submission” page or the “What to Bring” section under “Attend Centre,” and look for the download link in the list of required documents.1VFS Global. Passport Submission The document is titled “Consent Form and Terms of Use for Applicant Services.”
Download a fresh copy within a few days of your appointment. VFS updates the form periodically, and a saved version from months ago may be rejected if the terms have changed. Check your VAC’s instructions for how many copies to bring; some locations require two.2VFS Global. What to Bring With You
Filling In Each Section
The Canadian version runs about four pages. You only complete the sections that apply to you, not every field on every page.
Applicant Information
Print your full legal name exactly as it appears on your passport biodata page. Any mismatch, including a different spelling of a middle name, can hold up your file. Enter the same mailing address, phone number, and email that appear on your visa application so the VAC can reach you if something is missing.3VFS Global. Sign and date the bottom of the section. The “Signed At” field is for the city and country where you are actually located when you sign. Use the real date you signed, not the date of your appointment or your travel date.
Biometrics Consent
A separate page asks whether you want to provide fingerprints and a photograph at the VAC. If you received a Biometric Instruction Letter from IRCC, sign the block confirming you want to enroll. If you have already given biometrics that are still valid, sign the opposite block, the one for applicants who are not providing biometrics, and confirm you have checked your validity.3VFS Global. Consent Form and Terms of Use for Applicant Services Signing the wrong block, or signing both, is one of the most common reasons a submission is bounced back at the counter.
Representative Authorization
Fill in the indirect submission section only if someone else will drop off your application or pick up your passport for you. Write the representative’s full name, their relationship to you, and sign and date it. The representative must show valid government-issued photo identification when they visit the VAC.4VFS Global. Signing on Behalf of a Child
A minor cannot sign for themselves. A parent or legal guardian signs the form and prints their own name and relationship to the child in the signature block. Each child needs their own consent form; siblings cannot be grouped onto one document.6VFS Global. Parental Authorization for Minors
If the parents are divorced, the parent with legal custody signs and should bring a copy of the custody order. If one parent has died, bring a copy of the death certificate.7VFS Global. Minor New Foreign National by Birth and Never Held Indian Passport
Handing In the Form
Most applicants submit the signed consent form at a scheduled biometrics appointment. Place it with your Biometric Instruction Letter, passport biodata page copies, and any notification letters from IRCC. Staff review the form at the counter and will ask you to correct or re-sign anything incomplete before accepting the package.2VFS Global. What to Bring With You
Once accepted, the VAC transmits your documents to IRCC and issues you a receipt or tracking number. The consent form itself is processed immediately; there is no separate waiting period tied to it.
If you are mailing your application rather than attending in person, put the signed consent form on top of the document stack. You provide your own prepaid incoming courier label. For approved applications, VFS includes a standard USPS return label with an estimated 10 to 15 business days for delivery; if the application is incomplete or refused, you supply the return label yourself.8VFS Global. Mistakes That Get the Form Rejected
The document looks simple, but the same errors turn up over and over at the counter. Check for each of these before you leave for your appointment.
- Printed name does not match the passport exactly, including spelling of middle names.
- Wrong biometrics block signed, or both blocks signed, leaving your enrollment status ambiguous.
- Representative section left partly blank when someone else is submitting for you, which means staff will not release documents to that person.4VFS Global. Passport Submission
- Old version of the form printed from a file saved months earlier, after VFS has updated the terms.
- Only one copy brought when the local VAC requires two, forcing a printing detour before you can submit.
Because the consent form travels with a visa application where every detail must line up, treat it with the same care as the application itself. A name, date, or contact field that contradicts your other documents can push your file into a manual review it would otherwise avoid.
