To pay your SSS contribution online, register a My.SSS account on the official SSS website, generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN) for the month or quarter you are paying, then settle the amount through the MySSS mobile app or a third-party channel such as GCash, Maya, or your bank’s app. The PRN is required for every online payment, so you cannot skip the account setup step.
Register a My.SSS Account First
You need a registered My.SSS account before you can generate a PRN or pay anything online.1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Register to SSS Have your SS number ready. Know How Much You Owe
Your monthly contribution depends on your membership type and Monthly Salary Credit (MSC) bracket, set under Republic Act No. 11199.3LawPhil. Republic Act No. 11199 – Social Security Act of 2018 Under the schedule effective January 2025, the MSC ranges from ₱5,000 to ₱35,000 for most individually-paying members.4Social Security System. SSS Contribution Table
The minimum and maximum monthly amounts by membership type:5Social Security System. Schedule of SSS Contributions Effective January 2025
- Self-employed: ₱760 at the ₱5,000 minimum MSC, up to ₱5,280 at the ₱35,000 maximum MSC (includes the Employees’ Compensation portion).
- Voluntary and non-working spouse: ₱750 at the minimum MSC, up to ₱5,250 at the maximum. No EC contribution.
- Land-based OFW: ₱1,200 at the minimum MSC of ₱8,000, up to ₱5,250 at the maximum MSC of ₱35,000. No EC contribution.
If you are unsure which bracket applies, the official SSS contribution table lists the exact amount for every MSC level. You will need the correct figure to generate an accurate PRN.
Generate Your Payment Reference Number
Every SSS contribution payment requires a PRN, whether you pay online, through an app, or over the counter. SSS made this mandatory for all individually-paying members when it rolled out its electronic collection system in 2018.6Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions
Log in to your My.SSS account and open the payment or contribution section. Select your membership classification (self-employed, voluntary, or OFW), choose the month or range of months you are paying for, and confirm the corresponding amount. The system then produces a unique alphanumeric code tied to that specific payment period and amount.6Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions
You can also generate the PRN from the MySSS mobile app,7Social Security System. Download the MySSS Mobile App or at SSS branch self-service terminals and e-centers if you have no online access.
Pay Through the MySSS Mobile App
The MySSS app handles PRN generation and payment in one place. Log in (biometric login is supported), open the contribution payment section, and either generate a new PRN or pull up one you already created.7Social Security System. Download the MySSS Mobile App
The app accepts GCash and Maya e-wallets, as well as BPI credit and debit cards.8Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. SSS Payment Channels Pick your method, review the total (including any service fee), and confirm. A confirmation screen appears once the payment goes through.
Pay Through a Third-Party App or Bank
If you would rather use your own banking app or e-wallet, many platforms accept SSS contributions. Open your app, go to the bills payment section, and look for SSS under government services or billers. Enter the PRN you generated from My.SSS.
The system validates your PRN against SSS records, so accuracy matters. A mistyped number will cause the payment to fail. Once the reference is verified, the app displays the amount due and walks you through its usual security check (PIN, one-time password, or fingerprint). You receive a digital confirmation and a transaction reference number when the payment completes.
Accepted channels for individually-paying members include GCash, Maya, ShopeePay, Bayad Center, and bank apps from Robinsons Bank, Security Bank, and Union Bank.8Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. SSS Payment Channels SSS has directed accredited collecting banks and remittance companies to cap online service fees at a modest flat rate per transaction.
Payment Channels for OFW Members
OFW members can use the same local digital channels (GCash, Maya, MySSS app) plus options built for members abroad:8Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. SSS Payment Channels
- Mobile apps: AltPayNet, PayRemit, Rewire, and other platforms that accept PRN-based SSS payments remotely.
- Online portals: AltPayNet, Bayad Center, Land Bank Link.BizPortal, and Billeroo (through the SSS website).
- Partner banks abroad, over the counter: Asia United Bank, Bank of Commerce, and Philippine National Bank overseas branches.
- Non-bank collecting partners abroad: Pinoy Express Hatid Padala Services and Ventaja International Corporation.
Payment Deadlines You Cannot Miss
SSS does not allow retroactive payments for individual members. If you miss your deadline, that month becomes a permanent gap in your contribution record. You cannot go back and fill it in later.6Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions
Deadlines by membership type:6Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions
- Self-employed, voluntary, and non-working spouse members: the last day of the month following the applicable month (or calendar quarter, if paying quarterly). Your January contribution, for example, is due by the end of February.
- Land-based OFW members: contributions for January through September are due by December 31 of the same year; contributions for October through December are due by January 31 of the following year.
If a deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, you can pay on the next working day without penalty. There is no late fee for individual members because the payment is simply rejected once the deadline passes. The 3% per month penalty on unpaid balances applies to employers, not to individually-paying members.
Confirm the Payment Posted
Save the digital receipt or confirmation from whichever channel you used. Payments made through the SSS website or MySSS mobile app usually post in real time under the Real-Time Processing of Contributions (RTPC) system SSS launched in 2018.6Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions Third-party channels can take 24 to 48 hours. Log back into My.SSS and check the actual premiums section to make sure the payment shows up against the right month.
Because missed months cannot be paid retroactively, a recurring calendar reminder a few days before your deadline, or paying quarterly if your membership type allows it, is the simplest way to keep your record clean.
