How to Pay SSS Contributions: Online, In Person, and From Abroad

You can pay SSS contributions in the Philippines online through the My.SSS portal, the SSS Mobile App, e-wallets like GCash and Maya, or partner bank websites, or in person at SSS branches, accredited banks, and non-bank payment centers such as Bayad Center and SM Business Centers. Every payment, regardless of channel, needs a Payment Reference Number (PRN) generated in advance.1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions The steps below walk through the process from PRN to posted contribution.

Generate a Payment Reference Number First

No PRN, no payment. The SSS uses a Real Time Processing of Contributions system that validates and posts payments through this reference number, so any transaction without one will not push through.1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions

If you’re a self-employed, voluntary, OFW, or non-working spouse member, you have four ways to get a PRN:1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions

  • Log in to the My.SSS portal or the SSS Mobile App, open the Payment Reference Number (PRN) tab, choose Contributions, enter your membership type, applicable period, and amount, then click Generate PRN.
  • Email a request to usssaptayo@sss.gov.ph.
  • Call the SSS Hotline at 81455 or 1455.
  • Ask an accredited collecting partner to generate one on-site by presenting a valid ID.

Employers work through the My.SSS Employer portal instead. They generate an electronic Contribution Collection List (e-CL) covering all their employees, and the system produces a PRN tied to that list. The same can be done through the SSS Mobile App once the employer account is registered.1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions

Check Your Amount and Deadline Before You Pay

Your contribution amount comes from the SSS contribution table, which maps your income to a Monthly Salary Credit.2Social Security System. Deadlines depend on your membership type:1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions

  • Regular employers pay by the last day of the month following the applicable month.
  • Household employers pay by the last day of the month following the applicable month or quarter.
  • Self-employed, voluntary members, and non-working spouses pay by the last day of the month following the applicable quarter, and may pay for one, two, or all three months of that quarter.
  • Land-based OFWs pay for January through September by December 31 of the same year, and October through December by January 31 of the following year.

When a deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, you can pay on the next working day.1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Pay Contributions

Pay in Person

If you’d rather pay over the counter, bring your PRN to any accredited payment location. Options include SSS branches with tellering facilities, partner banks like BPI and MetroBank, and non-bank collecting partners such as Bayad Center, ECPay, SM Business Centers, and USSC.4Social Security System. SSS Payment Channels Fill out a payment slip with your SSS number, the applicable period, and the contribution amount, present your PRN, and pay in cash or by check. Keep the validated receipt as your proof of payment.

Paying From Abroad

Land-based OFWs can use the same online channels since the SSS Mobile App and partner platforms work internationally. For over-the-counter payments abroad, the accredited banks are Asia United Bank, Bank of Commerce, and Philippine National Bank, and the accredited non-bank partners are Pinoy Express Hatid Padala Services and Ventaja International Corporation.4Social Security System. Confirm the Payment Was Posted

After paying, log in to My.SSS or the SSS Mobile App, open the Inquiry tab, and select Contributions to view your history. Online payments through the real-time system usually appear right away. Over-the-counter payments can take a few banking days to reflect. Check your ledger regularly rather than only after a payment, so any discrepancy surfaces before it affects a benefit claim.

What Happens if You Miss a Deadline

For self-employed, voluntary, and non-working-spouse members, late contributions are simply not accepted. A missed month becomes a permanent gap with no retroactive fix.1Republic of the Philippines Social Security System. Employers work under different rules. A 2% monthly penalty applies to overdue amounts from the date the contribution falls due until paid.6Social Security System.
