Milan Laser does not publish a cancellation form. The company’s online “Cancel A Treatment” portal only reschedules appointments, so there is no document to fill out and submit to end your contract. To cancel, you call your clinic or Milan’s corporate line at 833-667-2967, ask that your case be forwarded to the client resolutions team, and follow up in writing. The steps below walk through what to have ready, how to make the request stick, and what to watch for on the financing side.
Pull Your Contract Before You Call
Find your original Laser Services Agreement first. It has your account number, the signing date, the total purchase price, the body areas covered, and the terms that govern early termination. If you financed through a third-party lender such as Ally Lending or PatientFi, locate that loan account number too. You will need it later to confirm the lender’s records line up with Milan’s once cancellation goes through.
Look at two parts of the contract closely: the cancellation clause and the refund formula. The cancellation clause tells you whether an early termination fee applies and how it is calculated. The refund formula controls what you get back for treatments you never used. Having those provisions in front of you keeps a representative from describing terms you cannot verify in the moment. Write down the signing date, the number of treatments you have received, and the total you have paid or financed so far.
Opening the Cancellation Case
Call your local Milan clinic and tell the manager you want to cancel. Expect pushback. Clinic staff are trained to retain clients and will often offer to reduce your treatment areas, switch body zones, or apply a discount before agreeing to process a cancellation. If you have decided, ask the manager to open a case with Milan’s client resolutions team, which handles terminations directly.
You can also reach Milan’s customer service line at 833-667-2967 or email info@milanlaser.com.1Milan Laser Hair Removal. COVID Precautions Once a case is open, a resolutions representative should call you back, typically within a day or two, to discuss what you owe for treatments already received, whether a termination fee applies, and how any refund will be processed. Take notes during that call. Write down the representative’s name, the date, and every figure or commitment they give you.
Putting the Request in Writing
A phone call starts the process. A written notice protects you if charges keep coming. Send a short letter with your full name, account number, the date you are requesting cancellation, and a clear statement that you are terminating the contract. Mail it certified with return receipt requested. The tracking number and signed delivery confirmation prove Milan received your notice on a specific date, which matters if unauthorized charges appear later.
Address the letter to Milan’s corporate office at 18020 Burt Street, Omaha, Nebraska. Keep the mailing receipt and a copy of the letter together. If you drop the notice off at your clinic instead, ask the manager to sign or stamp a copy with the date and time as your proof of delivery.
Email carries the same legal weight as a paper letter for contract purposes under federal law.2Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC Ch. 96 – Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce If you email your cancellation, save the sent message and any automated reply confirming receipt. Sending both an email and a certified letter gives you two independent records.
The Cooling-Off Window
The federal cooling-off rule administered by the FTC lets consumers cancel certain sales within three business days, but it applies only to purchases made somewhere other than the seller’s permanent place of business, such as door-to-door sales or trade shows.3eCFR. 16 CFR Part 429 – Rule Concerning Cooling-Off Period for Sales Made at Homes or at Certain Other Locations If you signed inside a Milan clinic, the federal rule does not give you an automatic right to cancel.
Many states have their own cooling-off laws covering health spa, personal service, or prepaid service contracts, with windows typically running three to five business days after signing. Whether laser hair removal qualifies depends on how your state defines those categories. Check your state attorney general’s website or consumer protection office. If you are still inside your state’s window, you can cancel penalty-free, but you must do so in writing before midnight of the last eligible day.4Federal Trade Commission. How Your Refund Gets Calculated
Milan markets an “Unlimited Package” with every purchase, advertising all the treatments you need for life on each body area.5Milan Laser Hair Removal. Current Laser Hair Removal Specials That unlimited framing complicates the refund math because there is no fixed number of sessions to divide into the price. Customers who have canceled report that Milan calculates what they owe based on treatments already received, priced at the full individual treatment rate rather than the discounted package rate, and refunds the balance.
The repricing matters. If you bought a bundle covering several body areas and cancel after a few sessions, Milan may charge each completed session at a higher per-treatment rate than the effective rate you agreed to. The gap can eat substantially into your refund. Before accepting any final figure from the resolutions team, ask for the per-treatment rate they are using, the number of sessions they are counting, and the arithmetic that produces the final balance. Compare their numbers to the refund formula in your contract.
Financing Does Not Cancel Automatically
Most Milan purchases run through a third-party lender, with payments advertised as low as $45 per month.5Milan Laser Hair Removal. Current Laser Hair Removal Specials Canceling with Milan does not cancel that loan. The lender already paid Milan on your behalf, and your monthly obligation continues until the lender receives a reversal or payoff.
Once Milan confirms cancellation, call your financing company. Ask whether Milan has returned the unused portion of the loan disbursement. If money came back, the lender should reduce your balance. Get written confirmation of the new balance, or that the account is closed, and file it with your other records.
If Milan confirms cancellation but the lender keeps billing the original amount, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute the charges in writing within 60 days of the first bill containing the error. While the dispute is under investigation, the creditor cannot report you as delinquent or penalize you for withholding payment on the disputed amount. The creditor has to acknowledge your dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles, up to 90 days.
If Milan Does Not Process the Cancellation
Sometimes the resolutions team stalls, or charges keep hitting your statement weeks after you were told the account was closed. Call back and escalate. Ask for a supervisor or regional manager, and reference your written notice by date and tracking number. If that goes nowhere, you have several outside options.
- File a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint if the problem involves financing, such as continued loan payments or a lender that will not reflect Milan’s refund. The CFPB forwards complaints to the company, which generally responds within 15 days.6Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Submit a Complaint
- Contact your state attorney general. Every state has a consumer protection division that accepts complaints against businesses, and an official record often prompts faster resolution.
- Dispute the charges with your bank or card issuer if Milan is charging a credit or debit card directly. Send your written cancellation notice, delivery confirmation, and any Milan emails acknowledging the cancellation.
Small claims court is an option for amounts within your state’s limit, typically somewhere between $6,250 and $20,000. You do not need a lawyer, filing fees are modest, and you should bring your contract, your cancellation letter with delivery proof, and records of any charges that posted after cancellation.
Active-Duty Service Members
The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act lets active-duty military members terminate certain consumer contracts without early termination fees on qualifying orders, meaning a relocation of 90 days or more to a location that does not support the contract, or a stop-movement order of at least 30 days.7Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 50 USC 3956 – Termination of Certain Consumer Contracts The statute lists gym memberships, cell phone service, internet, cable television, and home security. Laser hair removal is not named, so whether it qualifies depends on whether a court or Milan itself treats it as analogous to a gym membership.
If you have qualifying orders, it is still worth citing the SCRA when you cancel. Deliver written or electronic notice with a copy of your orders and specify a termination date. For covered contracts, the provider cannot charge an early termination fee, though you remain responsible for any balance due before termination.
Watching Your Accounts Afterward
Once you have written confirmation that the contract is terminated, monitor your bank statement and loan account for at least two full billing cycles. Automatic payments queued before cancellation can still process because of banking lead times, especially when a payment was scheduled within a few days of your request. If a stray charge appears, contact both Milan and the lender right away with your cancellation confirmation.
Check your credit report as well. If the financing account still shows a balance that should be zero, or if the lender reported a missed payment during a period you were actively disputing, file a dispute directly with the credit bureaus. A creditor that received a timely written dispute under the Fair Credit Billing Act cannot report you as delinquent on the disputed amount while the investigation is pending.
