La Quinta Employment Application: Experience, Self-ID, and Next Steps

To apply for a job at La Quinta, go to the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts careers portal at hoteljobs.wyndhamhotels.com, filter the openings by the La Quinta brand, create an account, and complete the online form. There is no separate La Quinta employment application — every La Quinta hire flows through Wyndham’s system, and most non-management applications take about 15 minutes once you have your work history in front of you.

Where to Apply

Open hoteljobs.wyndhamhotels.com and use the keyword search or location filter to pull up hotels near you. Selecting “La Quinta” as the brand filter strips out listings for other Wyndham properties like Days Inn or Ramada. Each posting shows the job title, the property’s address, and whether the role is full-time or part-time. Common openings include room attendant, laundry attendant, front desk agent, housekeeping supervisor, and general manager.

One thing to notice before you apply: many La Quinta hotels are franchise-owned. The application still runs through Wyndham, but the individual owner makes the final hiring call and sets pay and benefits. A corporate-managed property and a franchise down the road may list the same job title at different wages, so read each posting on its own terms.

Create Your Account

You need a Wyndham Hotels & Resorts careers account before you can fill anything out. Signup takes your name, email, and a password. The account lets you save a half-finished application and come back to it, which matters because the form asks for details — former supervisor phone numbers, exact employment dates — that most people have to look up.1Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Uploading a resume is optional. If you upload one, the portal pulls details into the application fields for you. Skip it and you type everything in by hand.1Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Hiring Process

What to Have Ready Before You Start

Pull the following together before you sit down. One missing piece is enough to send you off to find it, and half-finished applications are easy to abandon:

  • Your full legal name, current mailing address, phone number, and email.
  • For each previous job: the company name and address, HR or supervisor phone number, supervisor name and title, employment dates, and a short description of your duties.
  • School names, locations, dates attended, and any degrees or certifications.
  • Your availability by shift — morning, evening, overnight — and which days of the week work for you. Hotels run 24 hours, and the application asks.
  • Three to five professional references with names, titles, phone numbers, and emails.

If you have an employment gap longer than a few months, prepare a short, honest explanation. School, caregiving, a layoff — hiring managers will ask, and a plain answer lands better than silence.

Writing the Experience Section

Keep duty descriptions short and specific. If you cleaned guest rooms, say how many per shift. If you worked a front desk, name the property management system you used, such as Opera or Fosse. Hotel hiring managers skim a stack of these every day, and concrete numbers stand out against vague phrases like “responsible for guest satisfaction.”

Entry-level roles like room attendant and laundry attendant do not always require hotel experience. Cleaning, retail, and food service all transfer. For management roles, pull out any experience supervising a team, handling budgets, or running daily operations.

The Voluntary Self-Identification Questions

Near the end of the application, you will see questions about sex, race, ethnicity, veteran status, and disability. Federal reporting rules are why they are there. Your answers do not reach the hiring manager and do not affect the hiring decision. You can decline any or all of them.

Submitting and Confirming

Before you click submit, scroll back through and check phone numbers and email addresses for typos. You will sign a certification that everything you entered is accurate. Fabricating an employer or inflating a title is grounds for pulling an offer or firing you later.

After submission, the portal shows a confirmation screen. Screenshot it along with any reference number. Then check your email, including spam and promotions, for an automated receipt. If none arrives within a few hours, log back in and verify the application shows a “submitted” status.

What Happens Next

Wyndham’s Talent Acquisition team reviews submitted applications and reaches out to candidates whose background matches the open role.1Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Log into your account every so often to check status rather than waiting on an email.

If you get called in, expect questions about availability, how you handle difficult guests, and your comfort with physical work. Housekeeping and laundry involve extended standing, bending, and lifting. Front desk agents stand for more than a third of their shift.2U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Strength Levels

Background Check Consent

At some point — either inside the application or before a formal offer — La Quinta will ask you to authorize a background check in writing. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the employer must give you a standalone written disclosure that a consumer report may be obtained for employment purposes, and you must authorize it in writing before the report can be pulled.3Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1681b – Permissible Purposes of Consumer Reports

Consumer reporting agencies generally cannot report most adverse items — civil judgments, collection accounts, and similar records — older than seven years. Criminal convictions have no federal time limit and can appear regardless of age.4Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1681c – Requirements on Consumer Reporting Agencies Some states set stricter limits.

If La Quinta decides not to hire you because of something in the report, the employer has to send you a copy of the report and a summary of your rights before the decision is final. After the adverse action, you can dispute inaccurate information with the reporting agency and request another free copy of the report within 60 days.5Federal Trade Commission. Paperwork After an Offer

Once you accept, La Quinta needs several documents before or on your first day. Having them ready keeps you from losing shifts to paperwork delays.

Form I-9 verifies your identity and work authorization. Every U.S. employer completes one for every new hire. You fill out Section 1 on or before your first day and present acceptable identity and employment documents — a U.S. passport, or a combination such as a state-issued ID with a Social Security card or birth certificate — within three business days of your start date. Your employer examines the originals and records the information in Section 2.6U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification E-Verify is a separate electronic system some employers use to check Form I-9 information against government databases; it does not replace the form.7E-Verify. For direct deposit, most properties ask for a voided check or your bank routing and account numbers.

Requesting an Accommodation

If a disability affects your ability to complete the online application or sit for an interview, you can request a reasonable accommodation at any point. You do not need legal terminology or any mention of the ADA — explain what you need and why. The employer then works with you through what the law calls an interactive process to find something that works, such as extra time, assistive technology, or an alternative application format. Employers cannot demand medical documentation when the need is obvious, but they may ask for it when the disability or its connection to the request is not apparent.9Job Accommodation Network. Benefits like health insurance and 401(k) are available at corporate-managed properties, while franchise locations set their own packages. Ask during the interview so you know what the specific hotel offers before you accept.
