Skywork AI Charge: How to Cancel, Refund, or Dispute

A Skywork AI charge on your bank or credit card statement is a payment to Skywork, an AI content platform built by the Chinese technology company Kunlun Tech. The most common amounts are $19.99 per month or $149.99 per year for the Pro plan, and many people first notice the charge after a 7-day free trial quietly converts into a paid subscription. You can stop future charges by canceling through Skywork’s dashboard or your app store, and if the company refuses a refund you’re entitled to, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer under federal law.

Why Skywork Is Charging You

Skywork is a generative AI platform used for document creation, research, presentations, coding help, and similar content work.1Kunlun Tech. Kunlun Tech Launched The SkyWork Large Language Model If a charge has landed on your statement, one of two things usually happened. You started the 7-day free trial and didn’t cancel before it ended, so the platform rolled you onto a paid plan.2Skywork. Boost Your Productivity, Powered by AI Or you signed up for Pro at some earlier point and the subscription has been renewing on its normal cycle.

The free tier itself doesn’t require a payment method, so if money is leaving your account, you’re on a paid plan or a converted trial.3Skywork. Price Comparison of Skywork Document Mode, Jasper, and Copy.ai

How the Charge Shows Up on Your Statement

The descriptor usually contains “SKYWORK” or “SKYWORK AI,” sometimes with a transaction code attached. Because Skywork processes direct website payments through Stripe, the word “STRIPE” may appear in the line as well. If you subscribed inside a mobile app, you won’t see Skywork’s name at all. The charge will post under Apple or Google’s billing descriptor, which is why the amount can feel unrecognizable.

If the Skywork account you log into doesn’t show the subscription, search your email for a receipt from Apple, Google, or Stripe. Whichever one sent you a receipt is the party you need to cancel through.

Matching the Amount to a Plan

Skywork’s paid plans line up as follows:

If the amount doesn’t match any of these, check your original confirmation email. A promotional rate or a mid-cycle upgrade can produce a prorated charge that doesn’t line up with the standard tiers.

How to Cancel the Subscription

Cancel in the same place you signed up. Canceling in the wrong place won’t stop the billing.

If You Signed Up on Skywork’s Website

Log into your Skywork account, open the billing or account management area, and choose the option to manage your subscription. Follow every prompt through the final confirmation screen; leaving before the last step can leave the subscription active. A cancellation confirmation email should arrive shortly after. Save it. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period, and your access generally runs until that paid period ends.

If You Signed Up on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select Skywork and tap Cancel Subscription. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, open Account Settings, and find the subscription under Manage. If you’re still inside a free trial, Apple requires you to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being billed. If the subscription doesn’t appear, a family member’s Apple Account may have been used, and that person has to cancel it from their own device.5Apple Support. If You Signed Up on Android

Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select Skywork and tap Cancel. Google recommends canceling at least 48 hours before the renewal date to prevent the next charge.

Getting a Refund

Skywork’s Terms of Service say the company has “no liability to you whatsoever for any refunds in connection with subscriptions, except when required by the applicable law,” and direct refund requests to Apple, Google, or Stripe depending on where you paid.6Skywork. Skywork Terms of Service

If you paid through the website, that referral runs into a wall. Stripe’s own policy states it cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the businesses that use it and sends customers back to the merchant.7Stripe. Refund Requests for a Purchase Made Through a Business Using Stripe You can end up bounced between the two.

App store refunds are a different story. Apple’s reportaproblem.apple.com and Google Play’s refund request form run their own review processes, and both are generally more responsive than going through Skywork. Include details about the trial you meant to cancel or why the charge was unexpected.

Disputing the Charge With Your Card Issuer

If the merchant and the app store both say no, federal law gives you a formal path. The Fair Credit Billing Act covers billing errors on credit card accounts, including charges you didn’t authorize and services not delivered as described.8Federal Trade Commission. Fair Credit Billing Act

The deadline is strict. You must send written notice of the billing error to your card issuer within 60 days of the statement that first showed the charge. Send it to the billing inquiry address on the statement, not the payment address. Include your name, account number, the disputed amount, and the reason you believe it’s an error.9Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors

Once the issuer has your notice, two deadlines apply to them. They must send a written acknowledgment within 30 days, and they must resolve the dispute within two complete billing cycles, not to exceed 90 days. While the investigation runs, you can withhold payment on the disputed amount, and the creditor cannot report you as delinquent on it or pursue collection for it.9Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors

There’s also a background rule worth knowing. The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act requires any online seller using automatic renewals to provide “simple mechanisms” for consumers to stop recurring charges, and a company that buries cancellation behind unresponsive support or excessive steps may be violating that standard.10Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 8403 – Negative Option Marketing on the Internet Card issuers tend to look favorably on disputes where the consumer clearly tried the merchant first and was ignored or stonewalled.

What to Pull Together Before You Call or File

A few minutes of prep makes every path easier:

  • The email address on your Skywork account, so support can find it.
  • The original confirmation or welcome email, which carries the transaction ID or order number.
  • The date and amount of every related charge from your statement.
  • The last four digits of the card used.
  • Screenshots of any cancellation attempt, including errors or pages that wouldn’t load.
  • Copies of your emails to Skywork support and anything they sent back, or a note of the silence.
